Payment Information

Uniquely, we operate a donation-based system, where you can pay what you like. In practice, there is nothing to stop any individual or company from using the music on the site for absolutely nothing. But we hope you will want to give something back, as we put loads of effort into preparing the tracks on this site – all donations are much appreciated!

Guidelines for Payments

All prices on the site are in US dollars (even though we are based in England), though PayPal will convert any payments to your local currency at the prevailing rate.

For occasional non-commercial/educational use where there is no revenue-generating potential (e.g. for YouTube) a donation is optional. We do ask however that any material posted online is credited to us with a text link reading Music: www.purple-planet.com or a mention and link on your website or blog.

For more frequent non-commercial use i.e. use of more than five tracks in any month we’d be happy with an occasional donation of $10.

For commercial use where the project has the potential to generate revenue we ask for a payment of approximately a third of what you'd pay a royalty-free site: i.e. $8 for each use of a theme and $4 for a pad or stinger.

Clicking the Donate button in this, or any, page takes you to our PayPal link. Simply enter the amount you wish to pay and log on to your PayPal account to complete the transaction. If you are not a member of PayPal, enter your Credit Card details.
